What’s it all about?
Do you have numerous “DFO” ( Didn’t Finish Off) projects? Or several garments that seriously cannot be worn in public due to holes, wear and tear? Maybe you picked up something fabulous at the op shop that doesn’t *quite* fit right, or could be recreated into something new altogether?
Well, time to turn that around and come along to Stitch & Fix – a new monthly evening where no project is too large or small or difficult. You will receive expert help and advice on textile making and mending techniques, with access to various tools and materials.
Bring along a project or garment and feel motivated to see it through to repair and wear, in the company of likeminded folk. You might simply like to learn a new mending technique, so feel free to learn and practice on scrap fabric.
We have designed this class to be open to all (absolutely sewing beginners welcome!) and progressive, so you may want to book in each month to keep a project on the go and the momentum strong.
Wear, care, repair. Make sustainability one of your skills this year!
What will we cover?
Stitch & Fix invites you to bring along a sewing project or garment in need of repair and access the tools, materials and know how to set you up to complete your project.
Your teacher Robyn Bunting is an experienced Film and TV costume maker, has some good stories and loves a challenge. She’ll help you identify sewing and mending methods and materials to progress your project.
Tool and materials will be available, but bring along a project or garment and anything that you think could be used to fix, patch or adapt it and Robyn will get you back on track.
