What’s it all about? 

Calling all sewers! And all of you who have never touched a needle and thread but are inspired by Heather’s sweet beginner sewing project – the Japanese pin cushion! 

Using beautiful patterned and coloured Japanese fabrics and a sake cup, you’ll be making a high reward/low effort pin cushion! Perfect for keeping all those needles at their sharpest for your future sewing escapades.

This class is suitable for absolute beginners. You will receive all instructions and materials you need to make your own cute pin cushion, while having fun in the process.

What will we cover?

This hands-on workshop will teach:

  • Some very simple stitches
  • Tools and their purposes
  • Other project ideas!

Who will be teaching?

Heather (she/her) loves crafting, and loves sharing it with others.
She was first asked to teach in 1998, stepping up to fill-in during
her daughter’s art class at Williamstown community house, and has been
teaching arts and crafts in various settings ever since. Heather
currently holds weekly crafting classes.

Heather also contributes content for the Get Creative Magazine with
projects published every month (right from edition #1!). She has also
contributed a third of the projects for the Kids Craft book & all
projects for the Faux Finishes book.
